It is a story about four children whose parents die during the London Blitz and are evacuated to Bournemouth to live with their Uncle Percy. Their Uncle is a headmaster who is not used to having children at home. He loved his brother dearly and he is struggling to come to terms with his death. On the first evening in Bournemouth a stray German Aircraft drops a single bomb which destroys the headmaster's home. Percy is thrown clear but fears that the children could be dead. Amazingly the four children are not dead but asleep! They have been transported by strange powers into a mysterious world of magic. An extraordinary world inhabited by extraordinary creatures.
Four children fall asleep in their warm safe bed and wake in the mysterious land of Sunaru! A land inhabited with regal Navarra, colourful Nuahcerpels, and even fluttering Yriafs.
They soon discover they have a secret destiny, to defeat Lord Deogol and the evil Nilbogs. First they must venture into the underground labyrinth and search for the Chamber of Lost Souls. Will they have the courage to succeed? Can they complete the prophecy and return home or are they destined to be trapped in this strange world forever?
The once ordinary children have the future of this ancient world craddled in their young hands.
With the help of some special friends and their own magical powers, the young children become the leaders of the rebellion and battle to be the guardians of Sunaru.
