My inspiration came from the books I read as a child and with a little help from my fertile imagination. The trick is to recognise a good idea and remember to weave it into a story before it can escape.
Where do you write?
I write wherever I can get some peace in a busy household, my children do not make any allowances for me and neither do my two dogs who like to accompany me wherever I sit.
What is a typical day?
With the publication of my first book I no longer have a typical day. Book signings, writing the next book, internet, emails, interviews, walking the dogs. I never know quite what is happening from one day to the next.
Who is your favourite character?
I don't have a favourite character in my books, as I created them all it would be like choosing which one of my children I like the best.
What are your favourite books?
The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, all the Harry Potter books. Michael Crichton's Jurassic Park and Henri Charriere, Papillon and Banco.
When did you start writing?
I first wrote a short story when I was about 15, I stopped writing after 30 pages as I lacked the discipline to continue.
Do you test out your stories?
You bet! My kids love my stories and I get a real buzz from reading to them.
When will you be writing another book?
I have planned out the next 2 books in the Namuh Trilogy. I will be plunging back into the world of Sunaru whenever I get some spare time.
